How To Make the Most of Your Dumpster Rental

Renting a dumpster can be a game changer when it comes to moving junk and debris quickly and responsibly.  Home renovations, garage cleanouts, large scale projects, yard waste removal and more can all heavily benefit from the use of one or multiple dumpster rentals that can save you time and money.

In the below article, we’ll dive into the various ways you can get the most out of your dumpster rental from Unhitched Dumpster.

Planning Ahead

Proactive planning always helps ensure a more smooth rental experience.  Our convenient online booking platform available on our website allows customers to book with us 24/7 where they can pick their desired drop off and pick up dates.  All you have to do is plug in your address, select your dumpster size, rental duration and dates of both drop off and pick up…it really is that easy.  Note that Unhitched Dumpster Rental does also offer an Express Delivery option for anyone who needs to clear out some waste or debris as soon as possible.

Have questions about whether or not we can deliver a dumpster to you?  Unhitched proudly serves a large region in Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois; review our Service Area page for more info or give us a call at 262-812-3042.

Choosing the Right Dumpster Size & Option

Selecting the right dumpster size is a critical aspect in helping you remove your waste or debris quickly and efficiently.  All projects are different, and Unhitched Dumpster Rental is proud to offer a wide variety of dependable dumpster rental solutions to our customers.  Unhitched offers a:

  • 10 yard dumpster

  • 15 yard dumpster

  • 20 yard dumpster

  • 7 yard Concrete/Sod Only dumpster

  • 30 yard dumpster (2 x 15 yard dumpsters)

  • 40 yard dumpster (2 x 20 yard dumpsters)

Unhitched even offers Dumpster Bags, a convenient option for those that have some junk to get rid of, but can’t justify the larger dumpster sizes and the cost that comes with them.  Each Dumpster bag is equivalent to 3 cubic yards.

If you’re unsure of what size dumpster size to select, check out our Shop Dumpsters page to get a visual for how big each dumpster is next to Jaden Jacobazzi, owner and operator of Unhitched Dumpster Rental.  If you’re still unsure, give us a call at 262-812-3042 and we can provide some guidance on which size to select.

Know What’s Allowed & Not Allowed

The 7 yard Concrete/Sod dumpster is only to be used for concrete, sod, dirt or rocks, but the 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 yard dumpsters can be filled any and all kinds of junk and debris like household items, construction materials, carpet and flooring materials, furniture and more.  They can also be used with yard waste items like brush, leaves, grass clippings and mulch.

It’s just as important to know what isn’t allowed in our dumpsters.  Things like hazardous waste, oils, fuels, pesticides, acids, septic tank plumbing, raw sewage and more are unfortunately not allowed.  It’s also important to note that yard waste can not be mixed in with other general debris or junk.  One entire dumpster must be devoted to yard waste or general debris.

Check out our FAQs page for more information on what’s allowed and not allowed in our dumpsters.

Load with a Purpose

Use a calculated approach when filling the dumpster to make full use of the space.  Start by putting bulkier and heavier items on the bottom and do your best to have the weight be somewhat evenly distributed throughout the dumpster.  This will help prevent the dumpster from becoming unbalanced.

Stay On Schedule

When you book your dumpster rental through us, we require you to select both a dumpster drop off date and a dumpster pick up date.  However, we also understand that sometimes plans change and you may need to keep your dumpster rental for longer than your initial agreement.

With Unhitched this isn’t a problem!  We do charge a small fee of $20 per day for each additional rental day, but this gives you the flexibility sometimes needed to get all your junk loaded up and ready for pick up.

We understand that not everyone rents a roll off dumpster all the time, but some of the tips and guidance above combined with a dumpster rental from Unhitched will hopefully help you tackle your next project involving waste or junk removal quickly and easily.
